PHYGITAL FUTURE BY HYDRA

The name AGF HYDRA hides the mysterious, titillating project of sartorial latex designer, artist & researcher Anna Gloria Flores. Her works appear in tongue-in-cheek (or dark) self-directed performance pieces and videos made in collaboration with other artists.

WORDS BY THE ARTIST / Hydra is small, simple, and possesses many heads. It undergoes morphallaxis when injured or severed and it appears not to age or die. A series of translucent archetypes reveal the values of the Hydra Project: sustainability, craft, and longevity in the phygital HYDRA future. Digital rituals and physical acts of intimacy merge in HYDRA s regenerative practice. Labour as a form of meditation.

HYDRA belongs in a fluid, transpersonal future inspired by the delicate and highly efficient ecosystems found throughout natural entities such as plantlife and fungal microorganisms. Exploring their dynamic forms of awareness and how they communicate, or “signal,” with each other, the research transforms our view of plants from simple organisms to complex ecological structures and communities that can gather, process and share information.

Algorithmic landscapes and organic interfaces exist within one another on a spectrum, giving access to a larger consciousness system – Cosmic Womb – where further growth and self-repair are possible. A strong sense of presence related to the self is unplugged from the constant inbreeding of societal, limiting beliefs and toxic constructions, without falling into complete alienation.

Enter a safe space of non-verbal communication, were collective healing and self-repair are possible.

AGF HYDRA is the alias of the artist, designer and researcher Anna Gloria Flores.

AGF HYDRA – Abstract Sex/Kiss The Girl

As described by the author:

Solitary healing rituals in aseptic environments and self restored intimacy. About that time the man was frantically grabbing freshly-spilled slabs of raw meat off the pavement into a plastic bag under my watch. And I was the flesh, the guest, and the dirty pavement itself.

“It is a story about a long night, about everything that disappears during the day and only comes out after dusk.” Polish fashion designer Pat Guzik breathes new life into her garments by collaborating with visual artists, such as Aleksandra Waliszewska and Zbiok Czajkowski, whose dreamy and tongue-in-cheek works adorn the skirts, sweatshirts, jackets, and other ready-to-wear pieces by the designer.
Between November 14 and 16, 2025, the international and multidisciplinary FASHIONCLASH Festival once again descended upon Maastricht, the Netherlands. SWARM MAG’s co-founder, Kateřina, was kindly invited to be a member of the jury awarding the best fashion film at the festival’s 17th edition. We also dispatched the other co-founder, Markéta, on a little delegation to accompany her and glean the strongest currents and tendencies in contemporary young fashion design and performance art. Together, they now present their highlights from the three-day event.
Georgian designer Lado Bokuchava, the founder of the eponymous fashion label, describes his upcoming Spring/Summer 2026 collection as “exploring the contrast between sophistication and unease”, among other things. In the interview with Lado, we went over finding femininity in unusual things, the timeless appeal of horror cinema, and the vision he wants to bring to our shared fashion ecosystem.
Fashion designer Alicia Gu weaves mythology from grief and renewal, creating garments that pulse with vulnerability and ceremonial power.
